how to never look awkward in photos again- posing trick to hide the upper body

February 9, 2015 lexia frank
destination wedding photographer, Lexia Frank, is a film photographer for luxury weddings on the west coast and internationally. she shares her tricks about natural posing on her blog, www.lexiafrank.com/blog

So, I have to be honest with you. I hesitate sometimes to share these little tricks that photographers know, because a big part of me just wants the world to love their body in whatever shape or form it's taking at that very moment and learn to love any photo they see of themselves. i dont want you, my dear readers, to think that I THINK that you need to hide your upper body.  cause i dont. cause, girl, i'll give that upper body a big fat hug.

but you know, some days you're just bloated. or you feel like yuck. and you just don't want to put yourself out there in a photo. and on these days... you need to do this little trick.

it makes you go from looking like a big ole block, to a curvy girl with some shape with long arms, less-awkward, and happy.

it's the old 'lean forward, elbows forward, hand-on-neck photo.'

actually, that's not what it's called. i dont know what it's called. but it's that trick i do when i'm feeling bloated and yuck.

without further ado- my quick video tutorial, and super-fast self-portrait to show you what i mean.
